Offerings
Counselling & Psychotherapy
I offer grounded, relational therapy for people navigating emotional distress, life transitions, trauma, or simply the desire to come home to yourself with greater clarity and insight.
My approach integrates emotional, somatic and relational awareness - meeting you exactly where you are and navigating what’s hard, unclear or unhealed together.
This approach is more than talk therapy; it welcomes your whole self—mind, emotions, body—and honours the nervous system’s role in how we survive, adapt and heal.
A key part of my practice has been supporting people who live with gut disorders, digestive distress and chronic conditions. I have specialised for the last 14 years in the emotional and psychological impacts of gut and chronic conditions, including the unseen toll they take on daily life, identify and relationships.
Gut focused therapy gently explores the complex relationship between the mind, emotions, nervous system and gut.
Whether you're navigating illness or simply being human, our work together is about being met, fully, as you are.
While I am Sydney based, all sessions are currently delivered via Zoom.

Hello, I’m Michelle White
I’ve been a counsellor and psychotherapist in private practice for 14 years. Over that time, I’ve come to understand that our bodies hold everything - our stories, our wounds, our wisdom, and our longing for ease.
While my early clinical work focused on gut disorders and chronic health conditions, the deeper thread through all my work has always been this: a return to self.
Whether you come with anxiety, grief, physical pain, trauma, or simply a sense of disconnection, our work begins with listening with care.
The process I offer is not about fixing. It’s about understanding what’s happening inside, learning to relate to it differently, and gradually softening the inner conflicts that shapes our lives and bodies. This is the core of trauma-informed work: safety, awareness, and presence.
My practice is shaped by somatic and relational perspectives, and draws on what I’ve learned from years of sitting with people’s real, complex, unfiltered stories. It’s about making room for all of who you are.
I’m trained in somatic, trauma-informed mind-body approaches. I also draw on a deep understanding of the gut-brain-nervous system connection and have witnessed that resolving gut disorders starts with regulating the nervous system by including the whole self; mind, emotions and body, to attend to life’s experiences that are creating all forms of stress within you.
If you’d like to work together, you’re welcome to book a session or reach out with any questions.
